WELCOME TO WE'RE STILL HERE
We're in the mood for fresh meat.
Helloooo, neighbors! Welcome, everyone, to We're Still Here. Officially, the game doesn't open until December 1st, but we still wanted to give you guys a chance to get to know one another. Feel free to use this post to introduce yourself, share your contact info if you so desire, and mingle with your new neighbors before the real fun begins in a few days. We, as mods, would also like to use this space to address a few points about what to expect in December as well as how our next application round is going to pan out. Firstly, We're Still Here's first month is going to be a plot-heavy month. December is a crazy time for all of us, and we realize that not everyone will have the time to devote to roleplay, so we've decided to make the event a low stakes one and split it up into two halves with the first part beginning the day the game opens and running until the 15th, and the next half picking up right after that and running until the 25th. An announcement and plotting post will be going up in a few days. At the end of the month, we'll post a recap for the event that will also function as a public discussion where you can ask questions and provide the mod team with feedback. Secondly, since December will be a plot-heavy month with January being a relaxed month, this means that January will be our next application round. Not including potential drops, we will have seven slots available for new players. We will post a reminder announcement on the mod plurk as the date draws closer. Additionally, we will also be posting a new TDM in January for the new application round. For exact times on all of these dates, please refer to our calendar. And that's all! Break out your best gifs and get to mingling! |

Papyrus is very loudly very cool, in a way that is definitely not covering insecurities, doubts, or loneliness -
or the stress of living trapped within a mountain, with no prospects for sunlight or escape from the occasional roaming murderous human. He's happy to tell you so, in surprisingly practiced detail, and happier still to drop the matter and just emphasize his coolness, or narrate the shenanigans as he and his brother collaborate and/or compete in pranks. Smiling and making the best of things: it's the Snowdin way.Either way, he dresses as coolly as you'd expect somebody who sometimes speaks in the third person to dress, with sunglasses any time of day, and either a costume or the... uh... hottest of fashions on display. As a human in Santa Rosita he'll be adapting more to the styles of the people he sees around town, and best of all he now has hair to style, and will be doing so with a gusto. See: icon.
I'd love for his various TDM threads to be canon, at least in the sense of characters remembering them - even with the conflicting realities of who lived where or did what on Halloween. I'm planning for him to only really remember these highlights through the month, so that the whole thing will be dreamlike, and being human thing will be fresh for him to experience with the game's proper beginning.

like
rapunzel and papyrus HAVE to be best friends, right
because 100 percent they would get along SCARILY well

(I gotta admit that I'm only familiar with the movie and a tiny bit of fandom osmosis, so everything with the series and the ongoing adventurers in her kingdom are new to me.)
(Also, driveby appreciation of the username, I love when good puns are right there like that)

THE DECORATIONS. YES. IT WILL BE SO OVERBLOWN BUT SO BEAUTIFUL. Oh god especially with Christmas coming.....
(oh man I can't recommend the series enough! At the very least, the songs are worth a listen. They're some of Menken's best work tbh, and one of the utter showstoppers in s2 is what finally got that man his EGOT.
also thank u I am SO proud of this name)

And yes, encouraging holiday cheer and decorations will be just the thing. After how important those jack-o-lanterns were, clearly there'll be some protective measure in the Christmas decor. Besides, it's just not a winter celebration without a maze of snow walls in the front yard.
(I will check it out, see if it's available anywhere I can get to easily - I've still got a Netflix account, and I know a little about sailing the seven seas. I still very strongly remember how well Mother Knows Best summed up so much of the dynamic there, so I can imagine the songs get at a lot of other significant plot & character notes)

It's so tricky getting in the Royal Guard, but thankfully there ARE other valuable things in life, like being parents in an alternate kidnapping reality apparently.

But there ARE other valuable things, like being true to yourself and standing by your friends!! Not that Cass ever thought about becoming a parent though...
let me just spam with undyne icons in this thread
The parent thing is a new development, though Papyrus at least had been considering adopting the next human child to happen by, so he's a little more braced for it. He can offer some hot tips, extremely paraphrased from more sensible things Toriel once told him?
Oh man, I'm feeling excited for the pending cr for Papyrus and the Tangleds. Good tonal matches, familiar themes, maybe even some M/M and F/F solidarity.
there she is, fish-cassandra
though I can't say that Cass wouldn't EVER have children. But she'd absolutely be the sort of person that just picked up a child one day and suddenly realized she never put them down.
So hopefully more children get into the game??

So is Cass the sort to embody the "I've only had [this child] for a day and a half, but if anything happened to them" protective energy meme?

so sorry i never got back to your tag on the tdm, life and holidays hit me real hard dfkjlas
i loved the few comments of tags we did in imaginary island, though, and would love to get some cr going with the best skeleton

SO yeah, I'd love another shot at these two having cr! Papyrus doesn't come with a fluffy plot hook this time, alas, but he does have skin and hair and a car of his own, so it's not all downsides.
(Don't let on to Papyrus that he's the best skeleton, or he'll be lording it over Sans - who's already saddled with the ridiculous surname "Undertale - for the rest of the game)

he keeps it clean and that's about all he knows how to do. at least he doesn't have a spider hood to make it as messy as usual, but i promise you that won't stop him from looking like a disaster
please papyrus he needs you :( HE NEEDS HELP...

I'm not sure if you're opting to downplay the TDM or no, but in case you missed the little note down bottom - the TDM is "canon in the sense that characters are free to remember its events when they app into the game," and "dream-like" so they can remember conflicting family setups and all. So if you wanted to keep any of the threads from the TDM, you're free to do so!
