Hi there, neighbors! Have we got a treat for you!
The second part of our first event begins on the 15th, and since you’ve all been such good little neighbors, we’re serving up an advent calendar full of holiday goodies that should keep you good and happy until New Years. Here’s what’s on the itinerary:
On the night of December 15th, after everyone has gone home from Mayor Clarke’s holiday gala, a blizzard will descend over town and will last for the next week and a half. Weather conditions will vary by the hour, but you can generally expect steady snowfall. There will even be the occasional power outage, so best stock up on candles and get those driveways shoveled!
Beginning on the 16th, a few interesting things will happen:
Characters will still find themselves getting teleported to the Christmas Village—but now the rules have changed a little. Now, instead of always being transported directly to the entrance of the village, characters will have a chance of being teleported into the lake—which, we should add, is still very frozen. Thankfully, the ice above you isn’t that strong, so you can easily break out of it. Still, it’s best not to linger for very long. You don’t want to freeze to death or become a sitting target for whatever’s living in the lake!
Additionally, characters will find that something’s a little off about the village. Not only has it been abandoned and become very difficult to navigate thanks to the inclement weather, Santa’s Workshop is starting to have a very strange effect upon whoever passes by it. The details of this will be made more clear in the event log, but to sum it all up, you’ll have the option to turn your character into a Christmas-themed Robbie. This effect can last for an hour up to the end of the month, but regardless, all effects will cease by January 1st. So if you feel like getting into the Christmas spirit or need a convenient excuse to put your character on ice until your own holiday plans are over, feel free to stop by Santa’s Workshop and take a peek inside the front window!
Visitors to the village may begin to notice that something is a little off with Santa’s reindeer. The truth will become clear on the 18th when a new group of friends arrive to Santa Rosita. You’ll primarily catch them hanging around the Christmas village, but occasionally they might take a trip into town with your character should you cross paths with them. Fun!
Lastly, somebody has been building one too many snowmen in Shadyside. It’s an epidemic! Characters will start to see them throughout the neighborhood—particularly in their yards. Watch your step! You never know where they’ll end up.
All of these events will come to a head on December 25th, 12:01 AM, promptly ending thereafter. Make sure you’re in bed so you can wake up extra early to see if Santa answered your letter!
As a preemptive warning, this event will contain the following content warnings: violence, death and decay, animal death and dismemberment, sensation of drowning, and mind control. The prompts containing each of these will have their respective triggers outlined under their respective headers.
As was the case with the plotting post for the first part of the event, feel free to use this as a catch-all for plotting and connecting with your fellow players! You may also ask the mod team questions in our FAQ top-level below.
EDIT: After receiving some feedback about the scarcity of detail to this plotting post, we would like to provide a bit more to help you in plotting for the next part of this event. Without giving too much away (we still want to retain some surprise for the event post!), we can provide the following details:
- The prompts with Santa's reindeer will be very action-oriented. This may take many forms, including running, hiding, fighting, working together, or other such struggles. Your new friends are not very friendly, and characters may not have a choice of whether they meet them or not, considering that doors are still leading to the village at random.
- Prompts including snowmen will not be as action-oriented but tend a little more psychological. All we can say is that whoever's building them, they're building them fast!
We appreciate the feedback on the post and will be taking it into consideration with our future plotting posts. In the meantime, we hope this helps! Please feel free to utilize the mod FAQ top-level below with any further questions. |

And if characters ask about the village when out at stores, stocking up on candles and other basic necessities, what do the townspeople have to say about it? Is it abandoned and closed down due to the snowstorm? Was it always supposed to close after the Gala? Something more baffling and troubling...?

The townspeople will be quick to inform you what a lovely idea it was for Mayor Clarke to put together. And snowstorms—that's just a chance for snowball fights!
Nie Huaisang | The Untamed
Once the reindeer start becoming a threat (in whatever capacity they’re going to be a threat), Huaisang is far less likely to be involved in this camp organization himself. His survival strategies are mostly focused around hiding and/or clinging to others who are more survival-competent, so he’ll be looking for survival buddies to protect him if he gets caught out in the cold and the snow with the new reindeer “friends” around.
Especially with the snowmen around, Huaisang is going to be very reluctant to leave his house (and he’s going to be making sure every room in his house will be stocked with food and booze so that if he gets trapped in a closet or bathroom with the only way out being a teleport door to the lake, fine, he’ll just live in this closet for the next two days. So while he’ll be avoiding leaving the house (or the living room) as much as possible, his house will be a well-lit safehouse for others caught out in the bad weather, and he would welcome guests to keep him company in this frightening time.
Kiara Sessyoin | Fate/Grand Order
Definitely plan on involving Kiara in whatever's going on with the snowmen. Admittedly, I can't help but think of this, but that's probably not relevant to this. I'm looking forward to having Kiara deal with whatever spooky snowmen shenanigans there are and seeing if it'll actually unnerve her!
I also want to do something with the reindeerstuff. It being action oriented sounds fun and with Kiara lacking any of her powers, it'll be interesting to explore the different examples listed without having magical Servant abilities to fall back on. I got to do a little with that on the TDM but not a ton, so I definitely want to explore that here, if possible.
In regards to the lake and the Christmas brainwashing, I'm not entirely sure on those ones! Could definitely be fun to play with, as they're not things she's had to worry about before. Also open to having her run into people who've been turned into a Christmas Robbie or helping with lake stuff! Just have less specific goals there at the moment.
Sans | Undertale
Sans will mostly be holing up at home once he realizes things are going down, with only the bare minimum of excursions to get food/maybe go one house over to check on Papyrus/go to work enough not to get fired. He might drop the work thing if it's dangerous enough out there, honestly. Sans is definitely going to find himself teleported to the Christmas village a lot to make sure he gets plenty of outdoor time in spite of himself. He may end up being chased around by teleport portals as he tries to avoid getting sent to the village again. Expect him to climb out at least one window. I'm not sure if I'll be doing anything with the reindeer yet; it depends on the specifics.
I'm definitely interested in doing something with the snowmen; psychological horror is always fun. If having them around is dangerous, he might start knocking them down at least on Loomis Drive, but not if knocking them down is also dangerous.
Papyrus | Undertale
The reindeer prompt is giving me Wild Hunt vibes based on the bit we've heard so far... and given he's still used to creatures of all shapes being fellow monsters, not yet being used to this body, and lacking magic? He's more likely to be a victim than proactive survivor of whatever's up there. I'll be playing that one by ear, and probably do a couple tag outs rather than a top level.
The snowmen one with its psychological horror sounds promising, and it looks like wife and brother are both going to be dealing with this, so I propose a whole Loomis Drive snowman apocalypse - depending again on the specifics of it.
If it turns out they're drawn to decorations instead of repelled by them, the yard between the Undertales and Knochenmuses is going to be a writhing mass of snowmen. At least once or twice during this event, Papyrus is going to get temporarily Robbied - the fear of losing himself, and wondering about whether other people are trapped within the Robbies of this town, is a fun little seed to plant further in his psyche for whatever comes down the road. Depending on the specifics of how it comes about, I intend to have a prompt or two for that.

diana prince | dceu
let it snow
diana is going to be helping shovel snow and haul firewood when the snow isn't too bad! she's learned that she's (unfortunately) mortal-ish by now, and will be trying to take better care of herself. when she remembers to, i mean.
she'll also get teleported to the lake and have to hunker down in one of the empty buildings for a bit!
up on the housetop
diana will be horrified by the corpses in her yard!!! luckily, she's going to try moving the snowmen by hand, and be unpleasantly surprised. perhaps she'll try to bury the ones who end up in her yard. i'm not really sure where i'm going to go with this one yet!
run, rudolph, run
DIANA IS GONNA TRY TO FUCK UP SOME SKELEDEER
she's got an axe from when she went to chop down a real christmas tree, and will not think twice about wielding it against these hideous creatures; after being caught out by one the first time, she'll take it with her everywhere. she probably won't kill(?) any of them, but she would absolutely come to the rescue of anyone who needed help getting away from them, letting people into her house or perhaps hanging out in theirs for safety.
have yourself a merry little christmas
santa got her this. she doesn't know if she should laugh or cry. probably a bit of both.
diana coming for these skeledeer like
takame kesi | final fantasy xiv wol oc
So, first things first I do intend to have Takame get thrown into the lake and almost drown. He's been able to breathe underwater for his whole life so he's gonna try bu force of habit EXCEPT THEN HE'S GONNA BE NOT ABLE TO BREATHE, FUN! He might have a small run in with lake monster, maybe be able in retrospect (and only in retrospect) to notice he's not alone, but mostly he's gonna struggle in the lake. Anyone who wants to pull his dumb ass out would be loved forever cause he is strong enough to break ice but he won't have a good head start.
I thought about robbie-ing him for a day or two, I still might I haven't decided quite yet since holiday times are ind of slow for me so I'll still be around. I just want him to be scared by the fact that he got mind controlled, another thing he's normally immune to! If I go for this It'll probably only for like a day which is. enough to frighten him sufficiently.
Seeing dead bodies in snowmen won't... actually affect him much since he's kinda dead inside but he will be like "uh. what the fuck." but mostly he'd try to help other people who are shocked by it cause hey he's fine enough and good people/heroes help other people. Or so he likes to think. :') This also applies to the reindeer cause he will KICK THEIR ASSES HE'S SEEN YOU LOT AROUND ISHGARD. Basically, if you need muscle and he's not robbie'd or drowned, he's your boi.
