Helloooo, neighbors! Let's give a big round of applause to welcome all our new neighbors and players to We're Still Here. Feel free to use this post to introduce yourself, share your contact info if you so desire, and mingle with your new neighbors before the real fun begins.  While January was a relaxed month, February will be another plot heavy month. Its structure will be a little different from how we've done things, just because we want to keep you on your toes, always wondering what to expect in our not-so-sleepy little town. In our end of the month wrap up post for January, we will give more details about this structure and what to expect. Be warned--for some of you, it might just be the worst month of your life. For exact times on all of these dates, please refer to our calendar. But this post isn't about bad news. It's good news! We have so many new faces here! For you newbies, be sure to check out our story so far and ask your fellow players for the 4-1-1. And for you oldbies, remember that we are still taking applications for your second (and last!) character until January 29th. hello new friends...... I'm Laura and I'm new in town, with Constantin d'Orsay from Greedfall, an rpg that 10 people played. It's good I promise.

Constantin is a 17th century millennial just doing his best. In reality he is a governor and a prince with a Sad Backstory and Bad Parents who only wants to ADVENTURE!! and maybe be appreciated for once in his life, but sadly his job requires him to sit behind a desk and do paperwork. He is feeble and sickly and recently recovered (miraculously) from a deadly blood plague, which has only made his reckless abandon even worse. He likes to drink and party and start fights he cannot possibly win because, again, he is like if dry fettuccine were a person?

Foolishly, playing house in a slightly off kilter town is going to seem much better to him at first than, like, home was... he'll be fine!!

But he does mean well and he is an excitable Yes Man if you're looking for that in a friend. Please be Connie's friend... he needs it......

HELLO pals, I am here. My name is Britt and I'm brand new and I haven't been in dwrp for uhhhh a little while, so I'm pleased to be back and super excited to be here.

I'm bringing you Chirrut Îmwe from Star Wars Rogue One. He is a very spiritual warrior monk who was part of a ragtag lil group of rebels who went on a lil mission to steal some plans from the bad guys. If you haven't seen Rogue One, spoilers ahead: they were successful but they also all died. It's the most depressing star war you will ever see. But it's also super good. Anyway, he has been described as someone who can be a "tremendously frustrating person when he chose to be, and often enough, even when he didn't." He means well, though, even when he is being deliberately frustrating.

He's also blind, so I've made a special section in my permissions post regarding this, if y'all could be so kind as to check it out. It's just two questions at the bottom there but you can also opt out of answering either of them.

Hi there! I'm Cass and I'm bringing in this absolute denim disaster, Randall Flagg from The Stand (the book; I know the 2020 series is still ongoing so if anyone is only following that and doesn't want spoilers lmk) as well as The Dark Tower and a few other Stephen King books.

He's a wizard/cosmic entity who strongly resembles some sort of demon or devil but isn't actually one, and his interests include destroying civilizations, committing atrocities, and in general being a very not nice guy. He can act real nice and charming when he wants to, though, so he'll be a lovely neighbor. And despite being terrible he's also a grade-A shitposter that loves a good joke.

He's coming right off of starting his own civilization in a post-plague world, and he's ready to kick back and relax a bit after the stress of running an apocalyptic dictatorship. Unfortunately for him, he's used to being the monster instead of the victim in these sorts of situations so he's in for a big surprise.

Hello Herevillans! Herevillians. Herevivors? Gives up on this promptly, but hello! I'm rakel, bringing in Wei Wuxian from The Untamed, a Chinese drama you can find subbed on Netflix and Viki, to varying degrees of correct or at times interestingly absurd translations. He's just your average complicated to explain martial artist wizard necromancer, which simplifies so much but also is fairly accurate in the broad sense!

I love all CR for Wei Wuxian, he's that type of heroic that throws himself in to take the hits (especially for women, I realise, sobs, let this poor self-sacrificing harmless flirt be a fool as he always is) and also help guide the kids who are actually kids, since he's pretty fond of kids and teens even when they're frustrating. He deserves it. He was a frustrating teenager. He'll be very here for figuring out what's going on and how much he can get away with in breaking "rules" without getting Tranquilised, and he's definitely going to be That Parent who wants to go camping all the time. Getting in touch with nature, you know? Now you know! I'm sure that cannot at all go wrong, probably. Maybe. Ahem.

I'd love if anyone wants to do a rundown of what their character might let another PC know about the last two months here, as a "what would bringing him up to speed" be like--likewise I'm happy to do a handwaved first meeting so we can hit the ground running with other CR come February! HI THERE FRIENDS my name's Cee and I've brought y'all Sayori from Doki Doki Literature Club! which you may have heard about when it exploded in 2017! It's a psychological horror game pretending to be a dating sim and a whole entire wild ride.

Sayori, the Childhood Friend, is a high school-aged sunshine girl who is secretly very depressed! Not that you'd ever guess that from the way she goes about her normal life. She likes breakfast foods, sweets, adventure, and literature! Especially poetry, which she spent a lot of time writing in the titular Literature Club. She also likes friends, and is pretty good at making them; she's very outgoing and has a lot of patience for difficult personalities, so she's easy to get along with if you can put up with her silliness. She just likes to make people happy, so if she can do that, that's enough for her! (someday she's going to get Tranquilized and nobody will be able to tell the difference,,,)

There's a bit more to her, but it's SPOILERS so skip the next bit if you don't want that, and highlight if you DO want that. Sayori also comes with a heaping helping of Existential Crisis due to knowing that her world was a video game. So her relationship with the suspiciously idyllic setting and NPC-like townspeople is going to be a bit complicated, and she's going to struggle with finding purpose in this new existence!

It may take her a little while to open up about her various struggles, but who knows what the future will bring? ☆⌒(≧▽​° ) She'll hopefully be living with Sans and Lorna as their Legally Assigned Daughter, and you can probably look forward to some Sayori poems real soon as soon as i write them!

hello friends, i'm haru. i bring angelo sauper from a series about mobile suits. angelo is a Military Man at the old age of 19yo, he is blunt and has a haughty attitude and can be very unpleasant, he has a tendency to look down on people from earth, he is from The Future, he is a Terrorist. his goals in life are centred around two things: destroying the gundam, and protecting his CAPTAIN. neither are present here, so he's going to be miserable and do his best to act in the way he thinks captain will approve of, if he were here!!!! ask him about his captain so angelo can sound absolutely unhinged as he talks about him, like he's part of a cult or something and is proud of it!!!

angelo likes to keep busy so he'll be exploring the world and its secrets, he's bound to cooperate more with people of like-minded goals as he is, otherwise unfortunately it takes him a while to uh, get the small talk and hanging out going. he doesn't really have much of a childhood or social life to speak of and this will be the first time he'll ever be in a "family unit", let alone living in a "planet"; he's going to find it extremely bizarre and distasteful. there are two things that angelo can honestly say he enjoys: tea time, and roses. the rest of his interests LOOK LIKE THIS.

For anyone who has seen the show, Five's a 58 year old man trapped in his 13 year old body. So he's usually on the prickly side, especially when he is blatantly treated like a child. He hates it. He's also a former time traveling assassin and spent over forty years in a post apocalyptic wasteland. Bottomline, he's seen things that he never wants to talk about. But heh, we all know how stuff like that works out. XD

Lali-ho! My name's Melodie and I'm super bad at writing introes! Er, where to begin?

Well, with Monika I guess. For those of you who don't know her, Monika is a character in the visual novel Doki Doki Literature Club. She's a side character, not one of the main characters the MC can date. She presides over the Literature Club and gives directions to help the player. She's kind, sweet, smart, etc. Your typical visual novel character. And that's about it really. Yep, that's it. Not much to say about a side character really.

... Asides from the fact she is a sentient video game character who knows of the real world and cannot bear being trapped in a game. She's very resentful about being a side character, to the point deleting her friends and trapping the player with her forever looked like a good idea. She's bordering on suicidal and finding love is the main thing that's keeping her going.

So yes, Monika is a character with pretty serious problems. But she's sworn to do better, she really wants to be a good person even though she absolutely loathes herself for what she's done in the past... Will she succeed? Will she find love or realize she can be happy without love? Or will she relapse and assume other people are but NPCs getting in the way of her happiness? Who knows! It doesn't help that this world looks a lot like a video game.

Claude is the Head Hufflepuff at JRPG Catholic Hogwarts 4 War. He's a cheerful, friendly, and seemingly lazy aristocrat that actually takes his job very seriously. Once you look beyond his outwardly laidback personality, he's actually very cunning, secretive, and driven. One of the first impressions of him in canon is, "he has a charming smile but it doesn't reach his eyes." He's that character type. You know the type. He's also a known and proud schemer that will absolutely consider mass poisoning 66% of his school for a strategic advantage. He means well, really. He's a good protag.

Like I said, he's a character with secrets and his route (Verdant Wind) is pretty heavy on lore. If you want to avoid spoilers, you can hit up my permissions/opt out. As a personal rule, I'll always ask before dropping anything spoiler-y!

If you're unfamiliar, AHS is a horror anthology series, and Hotel is season 5, centered around (surprise!) a hotel infested with supernatural beings. The Countess is a vampire who owns the titular Hotel Cortez, which is just teeming with serial killers, ghosts, kidnapped children, a demon manifested by drug addicts... look, the show is just a lot. If you would like a real rundown, you can read this. Anyway, The Countess is 112 years old but became infected with a blood virus in the 1920s that grants her an eternal natural life as long as she drinks lots of human blood. She spends most of her time swanning around in haute couture like a rich jerk. She loves children and pretty, evil men and art. She's used to getting pretty much whatever she wants at whatever cost, and she's basically the worst ❤

Hello! I’m Hannah. I haven’t really rped in about a year, so I’m excited to try to get back in the swing of things.

I’m bringing you Theon Greyjoy from the eternally unfinished A Song of Ice and Fire series and no, the show doesn’t count. He’s a (very) troubled and (very) unlucky young man who makes really bad decisions and tries to hide his anger and insecurities by acting like an asshole. He smiles and laughs at inappropriate times and is just all around kind of mean. He’s from an old timey environment where is family is basically made up of pirates, but he was a political prisoner as a child and didn’t grow up to be a pirate too. He's being taken from the end of A Clash of Kings.

Здрасте, I am Alex, totally new to this game, and bringing you Natasha Romanov from Marvel Comics (Were a Mistake).



Natasha is a former KGB agent turned Avenger, who straddles the line between superspy and superhero. Notably, she's old enough to have been around during the Cold War, when she specialized in missions to the West, and also time travel, as and also everything else, because comics are silly. Still, I am looking forward to using this setting to bring out some of those elements in her character arc, as she will no doubt try to get to the bottom of this place. She'll be coming from after Web of Black Widow but before the start of the most recent ongoing, though because that story her being kidnapped, drugged, and placed into a blissful suburban existence as a premise, I am sure it will inform my characterization here somewhat.

super convenient that i'm apping in right as there is a lot of period-appropriate content for wanda now that WandaVision is airing on disney+ heh heh HEHH just as planned...!



long and short of it for wanda is this: she's a superpowered being codenamed "scarlet witch" (disney may or may not own the word mutant after eating fox whole by this point but when she made her first appearance they didn't and so "being" or "metahuman" is how the universe defaults to her terminology) who has sometimes near-reality-breaking powers of telekinesis, psionic matter manipulation, and telepathy and mental manipulation. she almost single-handedly defeated a god named thanos with these powers, but mistakes were made after her maneuvers and her sacrifice did not pay off.

she's coming into the game fresh off that failure — entailing the very traumatic murder of her synthetic, superpowered AI-but-more love, Vision, her own death, and the death of half the universe. hello everyone it's your resident spider stan, kitty, falling back into bad habits and bringing in a smaller, meaner, and cat themed vampire for my second!!

this is carmilla karnstein from a similarly named webseries, which happens to be a very canadian modern retelling of the classic novel. she's less ambiguously evil this time and has a bleeding heart under all the cruelty and sarcasm, but blessedly the sapphic undertones are now overtones and we love to see it.

she has no powers now but they will be regained eventually so if you'd like to know what's going on with her stupid supernatural stuff, you can see her permissions here! good luck to whoever ends up in a house with her, i hope you like nightmares about drowning in blood and cat demons on top of a canonically terrible roommate.

i will do a quick note that she has some shockingly triggery stuff in her history considering she's from a youtube webseries (noncon, grooming, abuse, etc), but i will warn for anything if she thinks about it around others. she probably won't talk about it if she can avoid it.

for now, she'll be complaining about being back in the 60s (literally back, been there and done that), probably getting Robbied once before she Behaves, and probably being rude to most of her neighbors. she's gonna make so many friends, i'm sure of it!!! either way, let me know if you want to torment your char with her presence!! and of course, peter (webdesigned) is always hanging around as well.

Hi everyone! It's Melly again - GMT +8, brackets preferred but will match my partner - and I'll be bringing another original character for my second and final character: Noelle Rosas.

Noelle is from the same sci-fi setting as Daylight but a different time period: 2070s, only a few years after the official end of an intergalactic civil war that found its way to Earth and messed up a lot of lives: Noelle's included since the impact of the war caused her to be raised in a broken home, help her only friend in the world cover up the murder of her father (honestly he deserved it), and run away to California to become a criminal who later joined a gang that specialised in heists and robberies before the leader betrayed her and tried to kill her to buy him time to escape. So. You know. She had a Lot of Things happen to her before arriving her and she might be a bit testy.

A criminal with illegally-installed cyberware who specialises in sabotage, spying, and hacking to gain an upper hand on others - Noelle does her best to appear sweet and charming and kind to people but, in reality, she's extremely distrusting of people due to the life she had so far. She just can't believe anyone would be willing to be good because they can and believes everyone is always angling for something from someone so she is Suspicious of genuinely nice and/or friendly individuals because what the heck?? She will absolutely stab someone if she feels it'll come down to it but will try to blend with the crowd and keep her head down as she tries to figure out what to do next. She'll be very unhappy with the situation and want to go home ASAP but knows than to mouth off people who could harm or hurt her. Better to play it safe than sorry.

Stacey thepenguinred, player of Agatha Van Helsing, here with her number two: Louis from the Walking Dead (telltale) series.

He's a teenager that's spend most of his life growing up in the zombie apocalypse, living in a school for delinquent youth that was promptly abandoned by the adults running it when the world ended. Despite his Lord of the Flies background, he's a joker that refuses to take anything seriously if he can help it, and will be loving all this fresh food, water, and TV. Oh, and talking to people he didn't go through puberty with. That'll be nice.

Hi friends! I'm Amit, and I'm new here (though woefully old to LJ/DW rp, having been around since about 2005.) I'm back after a fairly long respite, though, finally having some time to put into a game, and I'm very excited to be here!

Dinah Drake Lance - this version of Dinah, at least, as there's been many and I've played most of them at one point or another somewhere - debuted in 2011 as part of DC Comics's New 52 reboot. She's a former street kid who was taken in by a kind sensei and eventually grew up to be the owner of her own dojo, as well as a spy and superhero called the Black Canary! She's warm, friendly, and a little flirty, but she also comes from the school of hard knocks, so she's also always got her eye open for mysterious and weird happenings (which she'll definitely be investigating!) When she's not out fighting crime or touring with her band (also called Black Canary because she's into branding like that), she's out advocating for social issues, trying to make the world a better, safer place.

I'm SO HAPPY to see a Dinah around in the RP world. I don't really dabble in comics any more but preboot Steph Brown was my main for uh........ many years and I've always had a fondness for Dinah.

I'm not as familiar with New 52 Dinah but the fact she's in a band is very good content so I'm excited to learn more about her through the osmosis of RP.
